Coffee Cats will be having a make your own cat toy or cat kicker (with or without cat nip). Customers will have a choice of which toy/fabric they want to select and can make the most fabulous cat toy ever!

The Spice and Tea Exchange of West Des Moines will be doing a demonstration on the proper steeping process for all types of tea. We will demonstrate different types of tea steepers and how to best use them. Participants will be invited to taste various teas throughout the class.

Unlock your creativity and inner calm at this hands-on mandala art workshop, no art experience necessary! While creating your very own Meditation Mandala, you’ll notice a relaxed wave of peace and ease surround you. It can also alleviate feelings of OCD by allowing the mandala to come together naturally and be comfortable with imperfections or “happy little accidents!” All materials such as paint, dotting tools, sealant, pattern examples, and a finished mandala you’ll be proud of! Light snacks and beverages will also be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Your Mandala will be perfect to use for visual meditations, a way to find calm, tame the wild mind, and be a great piece of decor!

We’ll have treats like strawberries, marshmallows, graham crackers, and cherries for you to dip, drizzle and dab in your own toppings! Sign up for a time slot so we can be sure to have the chocolate tempered and ready near the beginning of your session. Walk-ins are also welcome, and we’ll do our best to accommodate, though chocolate may not be tempered right away.
Our retail shops and restaurants on and off 5th will also be open. Make it a day in Valley Junction!
